In this talk, we firstly discuss a few essential questions about research: why research, who can do research. Secondly, we share some strategies for beginners in identify research problems, carry out qualified research. Finally, we briefly discuss about paper writing as the output of research. We humbly hope the talk will shed a bit light for ambitious and hard-working young researchers.
报告人简介：
Shui Yu is a Professor of School of Computer Science, University of Technology Sydney, Australia. His research interest includes Security and Privacy, Network Science, Big Data, and Mathematical Modelling. He has published four monographs and edited two books, more than 400 technical papers with an h-index of 58. Dr Yu initiated the research field of networking for big data in 2013. He is currently serving a number of prestigious editorial boards, including IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials and IEEE Communications Magazine. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a member of AAAS and ACM, a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE Communication Society, and an elected member of the Board of Governor of IEEE Vehicular Technology Society.
余水博士系澳大利亚悉尼科技大学注册登录的教授。他的研究兴趣包括网络空间安全、网络科学、大数据、数学建模等。余教授出版专著4本、编著2本、论文400余篇，谷歌h指数58。他是网络大数据的早期推动者之一。现服务若干期刊的编委，包括IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials 和 IEEE Communications Magazine。他是IEEE的高级会员和IEEE通信学会的卓越讲师、IEEE车载技术协会的理事会成员。
